This document provides an introduction to the topic of homoeopathy in geriatrics. It discusses: 1) Historical perspectives on geriatrics from ancient Ayurvedic texts which placed great attention on problems of the aged. In Ayurveda, Dhanvantari is depicted as holding the pot of the ‘Elixir of Life’ which prevents untimely death and maintains youth. 2) Kalidasa’s phrase “Vriddhtvam Jarasa Vina” which sums up the aim of gerontology to achieve aging without senescence. 3) The author’s assignment to present on “Homoeopathy in Geriatrics”.
